VeryDarkMan Reacts to Oyo Abducted Victims Video, Suggests Crowdfunding if Government Delays Rescue

A social media commentator known as VeryDarkMan has reacted strongly to a viral video said to show kidnapped victims from Oyo State, voicing concern over what he described as a slow response by authorities.

In a video shared online, the activist said that if the federal government does not secure the victims’ release within the next four days, Nigerians may have to consider raising funds themselves to facilitate their freedom.

“If in the next four days the federal government are not able to bring these people out, we’ll have no other option than to do the first crowdfunding to get them out,” he said.

He added that citizens might also need to explore direct engagement to resolve the situation if official efforts do not yield results quickly.

“We’ll be the ones to negotiate with the terrorists,” he said.

The remarks have intensified conversations online, where many Nigerians continue to express frustration over recurring cases of kidnapping and the challenges surrounding timely rescue operations.

While some social media users supported the idea of collective action to save lives, others cautioned that such approaches could complicate security efforts or set risky precedents.

Kidnapping for ransom remains a pressing concern in several parts of Nigeria, with affected families often relying heavily on government intervention for safe recovery of victims.

For now, attention is focused on how authorities will respond in the coming days and whether the victims in Oyo State will be safely returned.
