Galatasaray Demand €150M for Victor Osimhen as Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona Circle

Galatasaray have placed a valuation of up to €150 million on Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, signaling their intent to fend off growing interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old striker, who joined the Istanbul side permanently last year in a deal worth €75 million, remains under contract until 2029 with no release clause, a detail that strengthens Galatasaray’s negotiating position. Club president Dursun Özbek is understood to be demanding between €140 million and €150 million, in addition to Osimhen’s reported annual salary exceeding €15 million.

Osimhen’s form in Turkey has attracted renewed attention across Europe, with Manchester United emerging as one of the most serious contenders. The Premier League club, now under the guidance of Michael Carrick, is believed to view the Nigerian as a key piece in their plans to return to consistent UEFA Champions League contention.

Former United defender Patrice Evra has publicly endorsed the move, describing Osimhen as “the kind of signing that could change everything” for the club. However, concerns persist within Old Trafford over the financial implications of the deal, particularly his wage demands, as well as questions around his temperament.

Chelsea, who came close to securing Osimhen’s signature in 2024, remain in the race and are reportedly monitoring the situation closely. Spanish giants Barcelona are also said to be assessing their options, though financial constraints could complicate any potential bid.

Osimhen’s appeal lies in his physical presence, aerial strength and clinical finishing, qualities that have made him a standout performer in the Turkish Süper Lig. His ability to operate as a traditional target man while maintaining mobility has made him an attractive option for clubs seeking a reliable focal point in attack.

Nigeria’s national team coach has previously suggested that a move to either the Premier League or La Liga would be a natural next step in Osimhen’s career, given his development and consistency at the top level.

For now, Galatasaray appear determined to retain their star asset unless their valuation is met. With Europe’s transfer market heating up, the coming months could prove to determining whether Osimhen remains in Istanbul or makes a blockbuster move to one of football’s elite leagues.
